Archangel's Forum Digest for August 8 - 22, 2008

Holy cow, it's been over two weeks. Many apologies folks. Work isn't to blame this time, much as I'd like to claim otherwise. An acute series of crises came up in my personal life last Wednesday, so last week's Digest got lost in the shuffle. Before I start, let me second Clovis when he says to go watch There She Is! Step 4. Like, right now. ^^

In The News
- As always, there is much in the news that you needn't know.
- Rather than look at everybody's post count, we try looking at who's made the most posts by percentage! Results are about the same as the raw numbers.
- A Final Fantasy XI guild fails to beat one of the 'ultimate bosses'... after 18 bloody hours... Good God Almighty.
- What makes a hard game?
- Sega finds an incredible cache of old games! In the closet. I've had finds like that.
- I wasn't aware that Guitar Hero is a profession, but what do I know?
- New House of the Dead game announced for the Wii!
- The XBox 360 is sold out--in Japan. W. T. F.
- The AVGN rules!
- Yahtzee rocks!
- Sadly, it seems that WAR is not going to be the epic win and awesome that we previously thought. :(
- Looks like we won't have to wait for Code Geass R2! Schwankyendaro!!!
- It seems that the Awesome parody archetype is off to the races!

There She Is - Step 4: Paradise

Amalloc has recently released Episode 4 of There She Is to his personal page at Sambakza, many of you have probably been eagerly anticipating this one so I thought I'd let you all know about it (plus nalem told me I should). I never would have expected, when I frst saw part two, for the street thug to hit him for that particular reason before the series was over. I can't wait to see part 5, it's really going to be epic. I just hope he puts out a DVD, because if he does I'll so be there.

This will also be showing up on Newgrounds on the 25th according to Amalloc, so you also have that to look forward to. I'm sure we all can't wait to 5 the hell out of it. So for those of you who were hoping to get daily first place, you might want to not release a movie that day if you know I mean.

Archangel's Forum Digest for August 1 - 7, 2008

As much as I hate to steal the top spot back from Laserkid, it's time for me to emerge from my not-so-secret angelic lair and bring you another fun-filled Forum Digest! And it's even on the right day of the week this time!

In The News
- Another valiant batchelor bites the dust. Heartfelt congratulations to him and his bride from the entire UP staff! :)
- Despite no need for us to know it, more news just keeps pouring in! This week: karaoke stabbity, the awesomeness of Jim Davis, bureaucratic stupidity of high order, and yawning dogs.
- It's that time of month for everyone again! ...I meant it's time to share what games you're playing, you pervert. Get your mind out of the gutter!
- We now have an update schedule for There She Is! - Step 4. W00t!
- Yahtzee LIVES! Technically, anyway.
- Sega admits that pretty much every Sonic game after 3 has been made of Fail and AIDS. Someone call Captain Obvious!
- It seems that Capcom might be serious about designing RE5 with the Wii in mind. That'd be awesome for many of the folks here.
- Speaking of the Wii, it looks like the WiiMotion Plus/WiiPommel is going to be cheap to buy. So that's a relief!
- Thailand bans GTA4 after an idiot kid tries to jack a taxi, imitating the game. Because we all know the only way to deal with the few morons who can't distinguish fantasy from reality is to punish everybody!
- Looks like taking emulation way too far with MM9 will be an optional feature. Whew.
- The prolific and awesome YouTuber Deceased Crab starts in on Peasant's Quest!
- The question is posed: does anybody here read? The answer, it seems, is very yes.

Sports Page
- It's been a slow and somewhat frustrating week in Guess That Character. No scores as we all try to crack into The Magus' head. The current round is at three hints and proceeding. Come play! (God knows I'm stumped.)

Arts & Entertainment
- Laserkid's first article in UP's "WTF?" series has been posted, as the man himself told us on Sunday. In this edition, the Neo Geo! Also, thread!
- Page 45 of Patchwork Family is up, and looks even cooler than usual! Share how much you want to smack the bitch lady! Smack mah bitch up, yo! ^^
- Special sneak preview of CTU Episode 17!
- Speaking of CTU, our intrepid webmaster has overhauled the episode selection page!
- A whopping five movie reviews from Brett this week!

And that's it, ladies, gentlemen, and all the rest of you. Thank you for reading, and good day.

New article: Neo Geo WTF, and other site matters, and Mega Man 9

Hello everyone, long time no see! It certainly has been a while since I updated this page. Ever since we created this new update system, its pretty much been Archangel's forum digest. Sure at first Clovis updated and I merely put up embedded videos. But now, I am going to take that spotlight back for a moment.

For you see I have created a new article for the site, Neo Geo: WTF, the newest article, and my first, in the WTF series.

In other news, please watch this space for updates regarding the written works section, as we are nearing its actual launch (intrepid viewers may have noticed the fanfiction section has been there for a while, but we didn't post an official update as the rest of that area has not yet been completed).

Lastly, for the few remaining Super Mario Bros. Unlimited readers I have left, I apologize for the long hiatus SMB Unlimited has had. Due to a new job and school constraints my time has been limited, but I intend to be back in the full swing of the comic by the end of the month.

And because I'm a cheeky fellow who still enjoys embedding videos, for those of you who've been under a rock, here's Mega Man 9's trailer.

Archangel's Forum Digest for July 24 - 31, 2008

Greetings once again, gentlefolk! Yes, I know this is going up on Saturday instead of Thursday. I posted a Forum Digest on Thursday. No, really, I did. However, it seems I'm becoming too free with the oblique references to my exploits in the service of our nation's government. Echelon deleted the Digest before it could be viewed, and of course nobody thought to tell me. So here is an edited copy of the Digest. Better late than never, right?

In the News
- Welcome to a brand-new Inmate! (I really need to start reading posts more carefully...)
- In a related story, we all weep to see one of our prodigal Inmates leave for good. Or at least for many months. We'll miss you, dude!
- More news we didn't need to know! This week: hippy issues, bizzare children's names, creative lawnmower repair, senior citizen 'film' stars, and much, much more!
- The evil of waffles is pervasive and sinister. Thankfully, we have one man who is willing to stand tall and defend truth, justice and, err, pancakes!
- A senator in trouble? Unprecedented!
- A spirited discussion of soulless suburbia brightens everyone's day by letting us explain why we hate certain places. Fun-ness!
- Yahtzee! And four of a kind, too! On the same thread, much despair about the prospects of Fallout 3. Please, gaming gods, make it good!
- Speaking of upcoming games... my month was made on Monday morning, only to have my heart cruelly broken that evening. *sniffle*
- Nintendo confirms new iterations of all their old staples... again.
- Nintendo also seems to be good at keeping secrets!
- EA might not be evil after all. My world has radically shifted around me.
- Tis the season for cons and concerts!
- New video from E6! Duck and cover!
- The new dub of Gurren Lagann provokes strong opinions, both positive and negative!

Sports Page
Not as crazy as last week, but still an action-packed week in Guess That Character! The first point of the week goes to TripplyFlop, putting her on the board at last! Then the current champion, The Magus, scores once again. The current round is at two hints and progressing. Come guess! Scoreboard:
The Magus: 16 Points
Clovis15: 15 Points
Laserkid: 10 Points
Wedge: 6 points
N64Player: 5 points
Cryokenetic: 3 points
Baka Otaku: 1 point
tripplyflop: 1 point

Arts & Entertainment
- The progress meter on Chrono Trigger Unglued jumps to 33%, then jumps again to 50%! Schwankyendaro!
- Three movie reviews from the Brettster this week!
