[Includes Episodes 1-7: "Outlaw World", "Star of Desire", "Into Burning Space", "When the Hot Ice Melts", "Beast Girl, Ready to pounce", "Beautiful Assasin", "Creeping Evil"] This first Arc is what sets the main cast together, it introduces Gene Starwind and Jim Hawking as a duo just trying to make a living, who get caught up in Pirate problems. This happens because of "Hot Ice" Hilda who hired them for parts and bodyguard service, however as she used a fake identity the two fell into the plot. They find a girl named Melfina in a chest after being chased by Pirates and end up fleeing into space with Hilda in her ship, Horace. She takes them to Blue Heaven where Melfina gets her own clothes. After some trouble on Blue heaven they head to a star named Farfallas where a special ship is being hid - the XGP. On the way out they have a run in with a Ctarl Ctarl ship with Officer Aisha Clan Clan on board. Aisha is left at Blue Heaven because she failed to capture Hilda. Once found the Pirates and the McDougal Brothers catch up. The McDougal brothers betray the Pirates and destroy them, and attempt to destroy the XGP. Gene, Jim and Melfina are on the XGP, Hilda tried to get on it but she is forced down by the Pirates, she then kills herself and the Pirates with an explosive. Her death inspires Gene to rename the XGP, The Outlaw Star. Gene returns to Blue Heaven where Suanzo offers a paint job and ship registration for what he owes Hilda. Aisha now shows up and tries to force information out of Gene about Hilda and the Galactic Leyline, he after coaxing tells Aisha that Hilda is dead and he knows jack about the Leyline. He was telling the truth, but Aisha didn't believe him. However he, Jim and Melfina manage to give her the slip and then return to Sentinel III, which is where Gene and Jim started out. They go to visit Fred Lowe who is a friend of theirs, he's overly happy to see them, some believe he is gay, but because he is a rich businessman, Gene asks for supplies and is told to make a list for an estimate. After he goes a girl enters who turns out to be an assassin after Fred Lowe, Twilight Suzuka, Gene jumps in by chance and stops the assassination of Fred, who is very grateful and agrees to give Gene what he needs if he can stop Suzuka from killing him. Once Gene leaves Suzuka attacks him and after a long run he manages to disarm her and take her sash. He gives them back under the condition she has to kill HIM before she can kill Fred. She agrees. In the next Episode Gene is attacked by a remnant Kei Pirate who wants to know where Hilda is. He manages to get away but he is poisoned. Suzuka helps save Melfina when she is also attacked by Kei Pirates. Suzuka decides to lend her strength to the crew. Gene falls over, poisoned he is knocked out.  [Includes Episodes 8-14: "Forced Departure", "A Journey of Adventure...Huh?", "Gathering for the Space Race", "Adrift in Subspace", "Mortal Combat with the El Dorado", "Advance Guard from an Alien World", "Final Countdown"] The Pirate who poisoned Gene contacts the Outlaw Star and offers the cure for a price but is refused, he then stages an attack on the Outlaw Star. Melfina says she can heal Gene and takes him down into the watery area where she interfaces with the ship. Gene comes out healed but the ship is still under attack, against the orders of the docking area Gene forces a takeoff so as to prevent further assaults. During the trip to who knows where, Gene and Jim have a fight about Gene's recklessness. The fight gets to many aspects. So much that Suzuka claims both are acting like children. Gene then decides to dock at a Space Station. Gene decides to take a job and he and Jim start to make up a little. They end up taking a bounty on a guy named Zonba. Eventually Gene and Jim catch a cyborg copy while Suzuka catches the real thing. It is here that Gene hears about the Heiphong Space Race in 5 days, and he sees the El Dorado and decides to join the Space Race. Once they get to Heiphong they try and sign up for the Space Race but the entry fee of 500,000 Wong makes them upset, however they get Fred to sponsor them in the race. Gene says he wants to do it for 2 reasons, advertising as well as to scope out info on the McDougal brothers, whose ship he saw in the ad for the race earlier. After a run in with Aisha at the reception they get ready for the race, this is when the El Dorado shows up severely agitating Gene who tries to get the pilot to tell him why he tried to destroy the XGP. The young man Harry denies any knowledge and after Gene leaves by aid of officials, Harry wonders how Gene survived Farfallas. The race continues with many chills, but in the end the Outlaw Star makes 4th place JUST outside where Fred would pay for their entry fee - however they were first in the Privateer category, and with the shirt advertisement from Fred being worn by some of the crew, Fred decides to give them half the entry fee price. Gene then gets a com cube from Harry McDougal and was told that the El Dorado had forfeited the race. The cube challenges him to a duel! Gene takes the Duel and goes into the asteroid belt, now with Aisha as a new crewmember (and Minus Suzuka who left when they went on the space race but said she'd return after), the fight is one sided as there are two El Dorado's but eventually Gene catches one. He tries to interrogate Harry McDougal, but Harry is hacking into the Outlaw Star, only to find Melfina, but Gene notices this and stops him just in time, Harry sets a self-destruct and leaves to the second El Dorado, and escapes. After this the crew has two fun filler episodes dealing with an alien cactus and a hijacker who sets a bomb on the Outlaw Star using a mouse picture and calling himself Crackerjack (and believe me Gene's revenge on him is fun as hell to watch!).  [Includes Episodes 15-21: "The Seven Emerge", "Demon of the Water Planet", "Between Life and Machine", "The Strongest Woman in the Universe", "Law and Lawlessness", "Cats and Girls and Spaceships", "Grave of the Dragon"] We now meet Hazanko who sends Shimi (real name Leilong) out to kill Gene, however after Gene's friends stick up for him he fakes his own death and decides to become a wandering outlaw himself. Next we have a filler episode where an old man hires the Outlaw Star to find Dragonite on a water planet, catch is there's a sea creature of extreme power and violence blocking it, some interesting tactics are used but in the end the old man (who resembles a futuristic Captain Ahab), sacrifices himself to let the Outlaw Star escape with all the Dragonite, which breaks the crew DEAD even on their bills. Next Ron McDougal and Gene meet and talk about the XGP and such, but in the meantime Harry tries to "rescue" Melfina, and fails. Gene manages to fight Ron who also has a Caster gun and then save Melfina from Harry who was quite upset when Melfina did not want to go with him. After this we have a filler episode with some cross dressing (Has to happen in anime I guess), Fred promised a girl to marry her if she beat the tournament 5 times in a row, and she's on the way to the fifth win, Gene is asked to stop her, so he cross dresses to enter while Aisha has to sneak in as well since Ctarl-Ctarl aren't allowed. In the end it's Aisha who wins and proves why Ctarl-Ctarl aren't allowed in this women's only tournament. After that we get an Angel Links cameo where the Outlaw Star crew gets to help the Links group out against some nasty pirate tactics. Next we get to meet Hanmyo of the Anten Seven who fights the Outlaw Star and nearly wins until they run away, on a station Jim meets her and the two not knowing the other was the opponent fall in love. In the end it is Jim's plan that kills Hanmyo. Lastly the group goes to visit a place connected to Leyline research called the Grave of the Dragon, but all they end up finding is a fight with the Mcdougal brothers! 
[Includes Episodes 22-26: "Gravity Jailbreak", "Hot Springs Planet Tenrei", "Cutting the Galactic Leyline", "The Maze of Despair", "Return to Space"] Next Gwen Kahn gives the crew a visit and immobilizes Melfina with a command, then basically forces Gene to get the Leyline coordinates from a criminal in a high gravity prison, with a plan in mind Gene gets the guy and gets out from the sadistic warden. Melfina is re awakened by Gwen at the close of that, however Gwen Kahn is dumped off the ship. With the coordinates there is only ONE more stop before hitting the Leyline. The hot springs planet Tenrei, in order to get more Caster shells, after he does a...task he gets them, special caster shells that are strong but drain the life from the person who shoots them. Finally with Caster Shells and coordinates the Outlaw Star heads to the Leyline. However the Geomancer, the ship of Hazanko is already there, and the McDougal brothers arrive with Gwen Kahn! It's a countdown to the Leyline and all 3 ships get there, only to have Melfina snatched up. She was designed by Gwen with info from the Grave of the Dragon and is the key to the Leyline. Everyone is teleported in to a maze to get to the Leyline. Most of the Anten Seven are felled by a crewmember of the Outlaw Star here. After some fighting Harry McDougal is dead but a data backup of himself is inside the El Dorado and a repaired Ron is brought there, unfortunately this Harry doesn't have the memory of Harry who was killed by Hazanko and they believe Gene killed him. After several obstacles there are 4 people at the Leyline, Melfina, Gene, Gwen Kahn and Hazanko (who reached it first). The Leyline has the ability to effect causality and basically is the key lines of the universe. Gwen becomes data learning everything he wanted to know. Gene and Hazanko had a fight, which turns the final battle between the Outlaw Star and a morphed Geomancer into huge ass monster battle, eventually the Outlaw Star prevails. The Leyline is relocated and the key to the Leyline leaves Melfina with the Leyline and goes to a new location. In the aftermath Gene returns to Sentinel III, pays a fine and stays in jail for his departure, then he and Jim take off with Melfina for parts unknown, they need repairs halfway out and when the repairmen arrive, Aisha and Suzuka come with them and rejoin the Outlaw Star. This concludes the series. |
